We wish you the Merriest of Christmases
and a Happy New Year!

The year 2022 has been incredibly busy and productive; now we are very excited about what 2023 and beyond has in store for the ministry of Five and Two Global Initiatives, and for our family! Thank you for being a part of the support team that makes this possible. Whether you are supporting us with your prayers or your financial contributions, it is only by God’s grace through these two combined efforts that this is all possible.

One of the major developments of 2022 has been identifying our first Peruvian team member, Oscar Loyola. In partnership with Peru Mission, we will be preparing Oscar to teach our materials and eventually lead this ministry here in Trujillo. We are very excited to have Oscar on board and look forward to seeing how the Lord will use his contributions to advance our efforts. Please join us in praying for Oscar and his wife Rebekah and their service here in Trujillo!

We are grateful that things are slowly but surely moving forward with the legal process for Lucas. Hopefully we will be able to begin the adoption process shortly after the new year. We need one final document from the Peruvian government before that process can begin. It is our hope that the adoption process will only take around six months, at which point we could apply for a visa again for Lucas. Please pray for God’s favor to be with us in these remaining steps as we would really like to be able to travel to the United States next fall for my (Scott’s) parents’ 50th wedding anniversary celebration.

Earlier this fall we held a ‘train the trainer’ event in Lima with our partner organization Sewing with a Mission. This was a five day intensive sewing training that also included small business, stewardship and planning/time management training. The women who were trained are committed to passing this sewing training to others. They will be leaders this February when we do another training event here in Trujillo for one week, and for the first time in Yungay the following week. In Yungay we will partner with the church of Angel and Rosa Montesinos; many of you know them from Kusi and our time in Yungay. We are excited to see this partnership flourish and begin to function under the leadership of Peruvians. Pray for these trainers we have been working with and for this upcoming event in February.

We have been rolling out the new hybrid version of our small business training course. We are excited about the reception so far, and have appreciated the feedback we got from the first participants as we always strive to improve the materials we have and the methods we use to teach them.

We pray for you all regularly—please let us know if there is anything particularly we can be praying about for you!
