Executive Director Updates:
Closing the Year Stronger, Happy Holidays
We are closing the year strong with a series of wins for GHEP. Here are a few of the things we've all accomplished together. To all donors who sent their checks and made online donations thank you. Here is the difference you've made for our world!
  • We've graduated three classes of Public Health 360 fellows, an innovative virtual opportunity that encompasses both educational and employment experiences.

  • We're planting trees for more than 80 different families and dismantling the damage climate change has wrought on our planet. Our trees are beautifying neighborhoods and bringing people together through local tree-planting demonstrations.

  • We’ve uplifted hundreds of diaper-recipient families and are ending the scourge of diaper need and helping our children thrive.
However, this important work can’t continue without your support. This end of the year is a good time to make those last-minute tax-deductible donations. Please donate to GHEP today.
Happy Holidays
The GHEP Team wishes you and your loved ones a safe and happy holiday season! Our team is excited about the upcoming year and what it holds for our community. Reach out and let us know how we can work together for the betterment of our local community and the global world. Please remember to follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Linkedin for the latest updates from GHEP.
Family Tree Adoption Program Serves More Prince Georgians
Our enthusiastic Family Tree Adoption Program crew is hard at work getting things ready to plant another batch of hundreds of native trees across Prince George's County. Our target is to plant at least 500 trees for County residents. Our tree planting program this fall is 80 families strong, with an average of three trees requested per person.

We have manifold opportunities to serve the public. When raised and treated right, trees can last for generations or more. They will mitigate heat islands, serve as stress relievers and rectify environmental injustices by filtering groundwater.

If you, a neighbor, or someone you know haven’t put in your reservation, please hurry now and get them in by climbing the reserve button below.  If you think you have a large yard that needs more trees, let us know via email. Thanks to our County and CBT partners, all trees are free worth over $500.

Diaper Program Distributes 100, 000+ Diapers Serving Families in DMV
Our maternal and child health baby diaper program continues to serve thousands of babies, mothers, and families. In November, we distributed over 100,000 diapers supporting 100s of families from Maryland, DC, and Virginia. Thanks to this program, babies will have an opportunity to grow and thrive. Our County mothers/families remain our priority, but no families or children will be turned away.

Our diaper program reaches out to hundreds of parents, young and old, and of all ethnicities. Diapers can sometimes be life-saving health interventions when faced with the possibility of infection from a wet diaper.  If you could benefit or you know a family who can benefit from the program, ask them to sign up on the website here

Your generosity can ensure our programming continues to thrive and serve the largest population possible. Please chip in today–every dollar counts to keep our little ones clean and healthy. You can donate directly from major shopping websites such as Walmart, Costco, Lidle, etc. Find out how to support
