Merry Christmas to all our players, volunteers and families.
We wish you all a safe and happy holiday season and New Year and look forward to seeing you all back for what is shaping up to be our best season ever in 2023.

This year we see registrations move to a new platform PlayHQ (not Gameday). To register for 2023, click on the link below and use the same name, date of birth and the same email address used last year (on Gameday) to register.
If you cannot remember your email or need to change it, please contact clubhelp@afl.com.au who can update this before a registration is commenced. Alternatively call 1800 PLAY AFL (1800 75 29 235)

Registration fees for upcoming 2023 season are as follows:
  • Returning Players - $230 + $50 SMJFL Levy = $280
  • New Players - $270 + $50 SMJFL Levy = $320
The $50 SMJFL levy is a league fee.
  • Family Discount – 25% discount per sibling provided the same e-mail address is used at the time of registration. For more details see website
  • 6 Game Membership - restricted to 6 games. Upgrade to full membership required to play 7 or more games. For more details see website
  • U10 Girls Membership – to encourage girls to give footy a go we are offering a special fee of $150 ($100 + $50 SMJFL Fee). For more details  see website
Alliance Teams 2023
All players are required to register with their home club for our alliance teams in 2023.

THE STABLE  PODCAST -  LAUNCHING FRIDAY
Our very own Mel Kuys, girls Coaching Director, and Club President Annette Maloney, feature on the very first episode of ‘The Stable’. Hosted by Kevin Dillon ‘The Stable’ will feature regular in-depth interviews with some of the superstars that make our club so great – players, coaches, volunteers, sponsors, pathway partners.
  • New senior coach Josh Caddy has also signed up to be interviewed.
  • A new episode will be available every month and you can listen for FREE.

⭐️ SMJFL LIFE MEMBER AWARD 2023 ⭐️
Congratulations to Peter Martin on his outstanding service to the game 🔴🔵
Last night at the SMJFL AGM Peter was recognised for his contributions that have provided a measurable benefit to our club, the SMJFL and the whole Port Melbourne community over an extended period of time.

These include:
As a volunteer -
Helping to re-establish our Junior Football Club in 2011
Vice-President of our club for the past 6 years
Roles including footy operations, child safety officer, club umpire coordinator, grounds management.
Being at the ground from 7.30am to 5pm on most Sundays ensuring the success of match day

As an umpire -
SMJFL umpire, mentor and assessor
Provides support to SMJFL Tribunal
Has umpired well over 1000 junior games of football

As our local CoPP Councilor -
Strong advocate for grounds and facilities for community sport
Thank you Peter for everything you do to ensure our kids get to play footy each season 🙏
AFL ACADEMY LAUNCHES AT PORT MELBOURNE SECONDARY COLLEGE

We are really excited about this!!!
The Port Melbourne Secondary College (Port) AFL Academy allows students to pursue their passion for Australian Rules Football League (AFL) in a professional environment. Working in partnership with the Port Melbourne Colts Junior Football Club, students will train with high level coaches and former AFL / AFLW players to develop their football skills within the framework of a structured and well-established football community. 

Students who participate in the Academy will build their fitness in a fun, team environment, developing game awareness, leadership and teamwork skills. They will also form connections with the Port Melbourne Borough, the region’s Victorian Football League (VFL), providing potential pathways into the VFL / VFLW and higher level competition opportunities. 

The Port AFL Academy is open to interested students of all skill levels, and is a fee for service program. The Academy program runs for 32 weeks in the school year, with students attending two, 90 minute training sessions each week.
