ESSENTIALS
Our posts for 2022 focused on leadership and navigating the continuing disruptions from covid. We started the year writing about the relationship between manufacturing and communities and how to help them both be strong and healthy
We continued to explore the labor challenges faced by most organizations, concluding that we have a retention problem, not a people problem. In so doing we revisited happiness and women leaders. Susan used these to speak to a group of Penn State graduate students (first cohort of the A2: Immersion Week). Recording available here.
This fall we also explored new work patterns, including the four-day work week. Recent results reported by SHRM from pilots in the US and Ireland found increased productivity, employee satisfaction and less stress leading to higher retention rates. Researchers concluded that the four-day work week has the potential to reduce costs associated with employee healthcare.
In November, we compared farmers and leaders and explored the benefits of gratitude (two of my favorite posts).

What topics will we cover in 2023? I have not yet decided. What are your interests? What types of problems are you experiencing? Email Susan with suggestions!
