The Light of Life

“In Him was life, and the life was the light of men” – John 1:4

I’m not great with light bulbs.  Now, obviously I know how to handle them, change them, and things like that.  I just mean that I don’t always change them in a timely fashion when they go out.  There’s always one or two out somewhere in the house, and the funny thing is, I have a cupboard full of ready and willing replacements.  But until I take that new bulb and screw it into the needy socket, it will produce no helpful light in our house.

So it is in our walk with Jesus.  All of us likely have areas of our lives where there’s some darkness.  Maybe it’s an area of sin, or perhaps an area of hurt, regret, disappointment, or shame.  The enemy loves to keep these areas dark and burdensome, but it doesn’t have to be that way.  Much like a new lightbulb still in its box, it will remain dark until it’s plugged into a light source.  But when we allow Jesus, the light of the world, into these areas, the darkness soon flees as light permeates that space.

This Christmas I want you to remember that Jesus is the only one who can flood your life with light and hope.  May you enjoy sweet fellowship with your Savior and allow Him to bring renewed light into your life.

Merry Christmas,
Pastor Jeremy

It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green.
