Key Projects Coming in 2023

At the Alliance for Economic Development of Oklahoma City, we start each year with anticipation and a plan for some of the larger economic development goals and projects that will impact our city for years to come.

In early 2023, we will launch several new OKC Rescue Programs to provide more support for small businesses, minority businesses and entrepreneurs to access capital, contracts and services to help them grow. We’ll also launch a workforce program to provide individuals with training, courses and help attaining certifications that will lead to career advancements or better paying jobs.

Biggest Impact Projects of 2022

Oklahoma City had many significant economic development projects in 2022 deserving of recognition. In the background of these and many other projects, we’ve navigated staff changes, adding Kimberly Statum Francisco as the executive director of Progress OKC and transitioning Daisy Muñoz as a project manager for the Alliance. I assumed the role of president of the Alliance in March and have appreciated even more the importance of collaboration among our many city resources, chambers, developers and investors as we’ve worked together on these very significant projects over the past nine months.

MAPS 4 Continues Open Houses for City-Wide Park Improvements

The City of Oklahoma City invites residents to public open house events in Jan. and Feb. to gather input for the Neighborhood and Community Parks Master Plan.
 

Meetings for Groups D, E, F, G and H will be held in January and February. Residents who use these parks are encouraged to attend and provide input on upcoming improvements.

We are excited to announce that Daisy Muñoz will be a Project Manager at The Alliance where her focus will be planning and partnerships focusing on south Oklahoma City.

Jane Jenkins to retire from Downtown OKC Partnership 

Jane Jenkins has been a driving force behind Downtown OKC's success. She has overseen the Downtown Business Improvement District’s for the past 14 years and has served as an advocate on behalf of downtown stakeholders including OKC Streetcar Committee, Automobile Alley Pedestrian Safety Task Force, Railroad Quiet Zone, Bricktown mid-block crossing and more.

Our team attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the Convergence development. This development is the future site of the MAPS 4 Innovation Hall.
