Deepwater Connector | ARPA Funding
Grand Traverse County Commissioners are in the process of identifying how they will allocate funding for the $18 million in ARPA dollars that were assessed to the County. County Administrators and consultants presented their 'Tier 1' recommendations which currently includes $75,000 for the Deepwater Connector. We are incredibly grateful and very hopeful that this critical infrastructure project stays on the list. Fingers crossed and stay tuned!

John Baker | Abby Mahan Gartland Award Recipient

John Baker is a regular and committed volunteer for Little Traverse Conservancy. His leadership and connection to the community have helped develop a driven volunteer force — elevating the Little Traverse Conservancy's efficiency, building camaraderie, and teaching other volunteers new and fulfilling skills. Congrats John!
Founder, Leslie Lee, established the Herrington-Fitch Family Foundation (HFFF) in 1996. Desiring a degree of privacy, she chose the names Herrington and Fitch by tracing her genealogy back several generations to the names of her great-grandmothers. By doing so, Lee honors those hardworking, yet anonymous, women in her family.

Since its inception, HFFF has contributed almost four million dollars to charitable organizations mostly within our five-county region. Grants have been made primarily in the categories of the environment and freshwater; education, art, culture and history; and medical, health, and basic needs.

"We look forward to the Nakwema Trailway and encourage everyone to support this trail system that will benefit the area."

We're grateful for the Herrington-Fitch Family Foundations Support!
