The Return of the
Spirit of the Rivers Loppet
The Spirit of the Rivers Loppet is returning March 12 2023. This will be the first time the club has held a Loppet since 2020. Similar to previous years there will be a 30k, 15k, 7.5k, and 2.5k distance. The exciting news is that the 30k, 15k and 7.5 k will follow a different route than what has been used in the past. The routes will incorporate some of our newest trails including Birch Bend , Ravens Col and Ridge Runner.
This year it will be a classic technique only event for the longer distances. The 2.5k will be your choice skate or classic or any combination you choose. A commemorative toque from Sauce will be available for an extra cost if you register early. The start will be staggered so that skiers doing the different distances will finish closer to the same time. We are planning to have music and food and games to really make this an exciting event. Our goal is to have fun skiing and celebrate the return of the Loppet. For those that want it there will be a competitive component to this event, most of all though we would like to see as many skiers as possible complete one of the distances. No matter what your time - it is a Winning Time
