Professor Inderjit Chopra to Receive Prestigious AIAA
Walter J. and Angeline H. Crichlow Trust Prize


Awarded by AIAA only every four years, the prize recognizes excellence in aerospace materials, structural design, structural analysis, or structural dynamics and selected Chopra for his transformative impact on rotorcraft engineering.

Alum Fernando Raffan-Montoya (M.S. '08, Ph.D. '16) Joined UMD Fire Protection Engineering as an Assistant Professor

Raffan-Montoya obtained M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Aerospace Engineering at UMD where he worked on the comprehensive experimental characterization of slot film cooling flows for propulsion applications – he was co-advised by Profs. Chris Cadou and André Marshall.
