When an elephant matriarch can pass unhindered with her herd to the waterhole, when a snare is decommissioned from its deadly intent, when a ranger can comfortably walk for miles in sturdy boots, when an aircraft can fly and gather quick and critical information, when a child can see deeply, for the first time, into an elephant’s eyes, this is all the thanks we need; these are the rewards of our combined support of various vital projects that keep the Zambezi Valley safe.
With your support, ZEF has contributed to the work of our implementing partners in the Zambezi Valley, namely The Zambezi Society (who are celebrating their 40th anniversary this year), My Trees Trust, Flying for Wildlife, and Kariba Animal Welfare Fund Trust.
We are honoured to work with them and couldn’t be prouder or more impressed with the difference they make each day – for elephants, habitats, communities – through anti-poaching, habitat rehabilitation and biodiversity loss reversal, Human Wildlife Conflict reduction, conservation advocacy, community work, educational conservation awareness for children through Virtual Reality and vital research/data gathering through aerial surveillance. We are sure you join us in recognising their achievements, often against incredible odds.
The Zambezi Elephant Fund (ZEF) supports the active protection of elephants in the Zambezi Valley, Zimbabwe through anti-poaching initiatives and development and placement of systems that ensure the long-term safety of these incredible animals and the security and growth of other wildlife in the area, together with the growth of local communities, protection of the environment and the improvement and sustainability of these efforts.
