Walking In A Winter Wonderland

Ding-A-Ling-A Ling-A-Ding-Dong-Ding!

And A Very Good Yuletide Morning To All!

I hope that I find you tingling - and not from the cold! Goodness, what a week it has been! Last Sunday it snowed in Amberley from approximate midday onwards, and although it looked very pretty I was concerned that I would not make it to London on Monday.

But make it I did, for Lady Ange's significant birthday, crawling through the country lanes which were breathtakingly lovely, but treacherous driving conditions. Then it was a quick haircut and beard trim, a trip to the house to turn on the central heating( Lady Ange was staying with me and I didn't want her to freeze), then a trip to the store to check on the shelves ( still brimming!) and off to  Camberwell for the birthday feast. And a feast is was. It was a Roullier White evening with the Lovely Lene returning for one night only. I have to say that I have been so very fortunate with the people that I have worked with over the years, each and every one delightful.

Now it turns out that Lady Ange has long had a hankerin' to be a Cowgirl(!!!!) and has decided to make her own birthday wish come true! Next year she jets-off to a ranch where, presumably, she will get to eat baked beans, wear fringing and make friends with cows? I decided to inject some style into the proceedings and bought her a Stetson! I cannot wait to see the pictures!

Sadly, this week most of my team came down with various coughs and sniffles - it's the weather - so I have been at the till covering for them and have not had a moment to design my usual missive. I am actually typing this from bed, nursing rather sore feet - I wonder how many miles I have covered to the stockroom and back?!

Suffice to say that we have some utterly glorious pieces to spread Christmas cheer, so do please peruse the RW website at your leisure. I thank you, most sincerely, for your patronage.

I shall be behind the till tomorrow - it is a wonderful time to work in retail and I have had a ball this week chatting to customers from all over the world - I even had a couple from Australia who want me to order a salad bowl for them to pick up on their return to the UK in August!

I hope to be back in Amberley at the beginning of the week as the Good Doctor is missing me (and still hasn't mastered the log burner!). We collect Teddy The Puppy
on Thursday and a new chapter begins!

I hope to write to you on Christmas Eve and wish you all a Cool Yule, and my sincere apologies for this rather short communication.

Have a great week - the weather has decided to be kind thank goodness - and I will see you at the same time next Saturday when we will all be ready to enjoy a well-earned rest!

With best Christmas wishes,

Michael x
