It's a whole new year, full of possibilities, and Stratford is stepping up. After a great deal of activity in December, several groups are pushing ahead with projects to preserve our environment and heritage. This is a time to be optimistic about what we can do, and there are many ways for you to help out.

If you missed Perth County Sustainability's December roundtable discussion with Sadaf Ghalib, Stratford's new Manager of Climate Change Programs, they have now posted the recording, It was a fun and relaxed evening, but serious questions were asked about the role of the Program Manager within the City's administration, and people were particularly concerned about the attention that will be paid to citizen input. Sadaf revealed herself to be a warm and open person, and she is very interested in making sure that our voices are heard.
The group will be doing a recap discussion at their next meeting on Wednesday January 11 at 7pm, by Zoom. Everyone is welcome; if you're not a member and would like to receive the Zoom link, please let them know at perthcountyhub@gmail.com

Climate Momentum against Bill 23
|
|
Climate Momentum is moving full speed ahead to publicize the dangers of Bill 23 and the Greenbelt legislation. We are losing 312 acres of irreplaceable farmland EVERY DAY in Ontario. Our security is threatened through the weakening of the conservation authorities. Our taxes will skyrocket with the loss of development fees, and it's not even certain that the bill will help the housing problem. This is dangerous legislation, and it must be repealed.
Members of Climate Momentum are going door to door this winter, to be sure people understand the threat of Bill 23. If they come to your door, please give them your attention and encouragement, and if you'd like to help out, you can contact them at hello@climatemomentum.ca
