Dear United Arts Family,

It is unreal, but I’m sending this exactly four months and one week from joining the United Arts team, and truly, you already feel like family. So, first and foremost, thank you. Thank you for welcoming my family and me so warmly to the Triangle and for incorporating me into the cultural fabric of this incredible region so quickly.

I have been WOWED by the theatre I’ve seen, the music I’ve heard, the fantastic visual arts exhibits, and the inspiring, generous, and humble artists that are on exhibit or on the stage. This community has it ALL, and I hope to contribute to the engine that lets the world know that the Triangle is a place where the arts thrive.

I am especially proud of the work that the team at United Arts does to provide funding to nonprofit arts organizations and artists across Wake County. This year alone we will:

  • Provide general operating support to 40 nonprofit arts organizations
  • Award 21 grants to organizations producing culturally specific artistic programming
  • Place teaching artists in 131 Wake County elementary and middle schools
  • Manage our 10-week paid Internships for Diverse + Emerging Arts Leaders (IDEAL) for undergraduate students from backgrounds underrepresented in arts leadership
  • Cover the cost of transportation for 55 schools (28 Title I schools) to local cultural destinations

And this is just a snapshot. Our tiny but mighty team is out in the community every chance we get, supporting and advocating on behalf of artists and arts organizations in Wake County.

I hope that you will include United Arts in your end of year donations to help us continue to Make Art Happen in 2023!

Give Today!
Thank you again for welcoming my family and me with smiles, hugs, jokes, philosophy, fantastic art and performances, and straight up North Carolina love. We plan to return it 1000%. Wishing each and every one of you peace and love in the new year.

Yours in art and culture,
