New Album by the Rufus Temple Orchestra with only original tunes.

For a few years now most of Berlin hot jazz bands have looked deeper and deeper in the traditional repertoire, putting aside composition work. But not the Rufus Temple Orchestra which released a new album just a few days ago. With "Original Rags & Tracks" the five-piece band from Berlin created something truly personal. The album consist of 8 originals written and arranged by the band members especially for this album. The result is a very colourful and fresh melange paying homage to classic ragtime banjo, the early Duke Ellington and even contemporary world politics. The Album is out on digital and CD format, and there will be a small print of vinyls available in May next year

The Jungle Jazz Band launches 2 new videos.

The Jungle Jazz Band hasn't gone to winter sleep yet, here they come with 2 videos produced at the flavourful Käserei Camidi (awesome address by the way for your cheese and wine). The band of 6 is tight as ever on "Cold Moring Shout" which, despite the title, is a steaming hot tune. The second tune "Darling Nelly Gray" is a bands classic where all partake in the singing. Both videos are out on the band's YouTube channel.

Swinging Europe meeting in Barcelona

The second meeting of the EU project Swinging Europe took place in Barcelona last November. During the three-day meeting, we had the chance to meet with all the other partners and look into the next deliverables of the project: an audiobook, a history book, a podcast, a newsletter, gradual mapping of the swing sector in Europe, an artists’ mobility and visibility programme, training, experience sharing and career development, Swing history heritage awareness and recognition activities, Strategic development of the sector and representativeness activities... Quite a lot to unpack there!
