Beautiful island of SIFNOS .... This is a barren and remote island in the most southern Cyclades in Greece. Everything here feels so simple yet the food is highly sophisticated and the wine is superior. It's a place where bougainvillea comes in the brightest red and the hottest pink and hangs over the white washed houses and blue shutters. This is a romantic island with a peaceful feel to it. We went barefoot and worry free, with the wind in our hair. Every evening we watched the sun set into the sea and then went to wander the streets and brows the galleries and shops before settling down for the best meal and a good laugh.
One needs to give time to the Cyclades. Pick one of them to spend few days on, then sail around the others. They are magical.
The island of MILOS with spellbinding volcanic lunar-like landscapes has most beautiful beaches in the Aegean and a great selection of waterfront bars and restaurants.
The island of Kea stands out from its neighbouring islands with its warm colourful buildings.
The island of Kýthnos is well known for the beautiful Kolóna beach where a lane of sand connects the islet of Avios Loukas to Kýthnos.
The island of Serifos is best for those who crave a tranquil, no-hype, away-from-it-all escape.
Uninhabited island of Polyaigos was our favourite of all! This tranquil place is ideal for those seeking a peaceful time within the most incredible colours of white and turquoise.
I was mesmerised by the gorgeous Cyclades and will work on getting back there soon again.
I wish you a gentle and peaceful Christmas, and, as this year draws to a close, love, resilience and happiness for the year to come.
