Dear Neighbor,

As we close out an eventful year, I wanted to thank you for the privilege to represent our community in Richmond. I will never stop fighting for our great Commonwealth and its people. Thank you for your continued prayers and steadfast support for the work we are doing. I am looking forward to another busy session in Richmond in the new year!

In this newsletter are a couple updates and my 2023 Legislative Survey. I'm not able to cover everything in one email, so please make sure to follow me on Facebook and Twitter for the most up to date information.
2023 Legislative Priority Survey
As we look forward to the upcoming Legislative Session in January, it is critical that you fill out my 2023 Legislative Priority Survey so I know where you stand on the issues. This short survey will help me understand how I can best represent you in Richmond, as there are many questions pertaining issues that will be coming up this year in the General Assembly. I want to ensure that I hear from you so please make sure to fill the survey out as soon as possible.

The 2023 Budget Bill
Earlier this month, I had the chance to join Governor Youngkin as he rolled out his proposed amendments to the existing 2022-2024 biennial budget at the Joint Money Committee. The Governor’s amendments to the biennial budget will:

  • Build on the nearly $4 billion of tax relief already provided in the Budget. By increasing the standard deduction and providing businesses with a corporate tax cut and a Qualified Business Income deduction, the additional $1 billion in tax relief will benefit both families and businesses.

  • The Governor’s Budget makes major investments to accelerate results for Virginians by Providing over $230 million to jumpstart the Right Help, Right Now plan to overhaul of behavioral health and substance abuse.

  • Launching Virginia’s Compete to Win strategy by investing in tax cuts, talent, and business-ready sites.

  • Strengthening law enforcement and public safety by funding Operation Bold Blue Line, including $30 million to recruit 2,000 new law enforcement heroes, additional funding for prosecutors who are tough on crime.

  • Keeping Our Commitment to Virginia’s Children with new investments in reading and math and expanded resources for education.

  • Offering unprecedented support to our ‘Quiet Heroes’ - teachers, nurses, and law enforcement, including $175 million for recruitment, expanded career pathways, and bonuses.

  • Making a historic investment in conservation and preservation, including $685 million in resiliency and the Chesapeake Bay

  • Ignite the All-American, All-of-the-Above Energy Plan with a $10 million investment in nuclear and other carbon-free technologies that produce reliable, affordable, and clean energy.

The Governor is delivering a balanced budget, leveraging the historic financial situation that the Commonwealth is currently experiencing, while also providing needed tax relief to the taxpayers. The above points are just a few examples of the Governor's budget priorities. I'm excited to work with Governor Youngkin this year to deliver a common-sense budget that will provide needed support to Virginians.
🚨 Approaching Campaign Contribution Deadline 🚨

My end-of-year campaign finance deadline is quickly approaching. With the upcoming 2023 elections in Virginia, I need your help to keep fighting for your values in Richmond. As the new General Assembly convenes in January, legislators are prohibited from raising funds for the duration of our time in Richmond. If you believe we are moving Virginia in the right direction and you want to keep our Commonwealth on the right track, please consider chipping in $100, $50, or $25 to help us share our Conservative message.

Took some time this month to honor and remember those who paid the price for our freedom. What a special Wreaths Across America ceremony at Old City Cemetery. May we never forget the sacrifices our service members made for us.
