Duo Ends Support for Older Devices
The Duo Mobile app will no longer be updated for Android 9 and earlier or iOS 13 and earlier devices as of February 9, 2023. Duo Mobile will continue to be fully supported on iOS 14 and newer or Android 10 and newer.
Existing installations of Duo on older devices will continue to function, but new installations and reinstallations on older devices will no longer be possible.
Users of unsupported devices may still choose to use the SMS text message or voice call options.
Overleaf is a popular, graphical, web-based editor for LaTeX documents, which are often used in scientific publications.
Overleaf Standard subscriptions are available under a group license through LS IT for $65/year (as compared to the normal cost of $199/year).
If you are interested in purchasing a subscription, reach out to the LS IT service desk. If you have an existing subscription, you can switch to the less expensive group license through LS IT and receive a refund for any remaining value on your separate subscription.

If you receive an unexpected Duo push prompt, that's a strong sign that attackers are attempting to compromise your UC Davis computing account. NEVER accept a Duo prompt that you didn't initiate! If you receive an unexpected Duo prompt, please report it to LS IT promptly.

LS IT Phone System
LS IT recently switched to a new phone system. Our main phone number continues to be 530-752-8800. One difference callers may note is that the phone will ring while searching for an available service analyst rather than playing "on hold" music.
Moving from Sophos to Microsoft Defender for Antivirus
LS IT is planning to migrate all managed computers from Sophos Antivirus to Microsoft Defender for Endpoint in early 2023. We will communicate more in the coming months, but we wanted to start socializing the change now.
