It's Chili Time, people! I always love this contest because it allows me to talk all sorts of trash and still be ok with not winning anything because it is such a fun time. Mrs. Thirsty Growler always discourages me from entering because she thinks if I ever manage to win people will say things. Like, maybe it was rigged or other filthy lies like that. Well, I'm still waiting for that sort of cushion, but after 6 years I've never benefitted from it. I'm not happy that Matt has some painful gimmick of 'eat this that you shouldn't because it will ruin your whole day' for everyone's entertainment. Alas, I will go along with his shenanigans.
Notice for Chili Contestants:
Try to arrive around 1:30 to get setup. We will get things rolling at 2pm with judging slated to begin at 3:30pm. If things are moving along smoothly we will start getting the tasting samples to the judges closer to 3pm. Bring your chili in your crock pots and if you wish to have anything served with it, bring that as well. Crackers, cornbread, cheese, sour cream, etc. We will have serving spoons for the chili as well as 2oz sample cups for all the people's choice judges that will be grading as well. Matt and I are figuring out a way to have some seating in back since it will be such a nice day. Well, might be a tad breazy, but that's ok.
$5 for all guests tasting and providing their favorites to determine the People's Choice Award!

NFL Playoffs and the Cowboys are all geared up to lose on the road again! As mush as I love Tom Brady, for once I hope he gets his butt handed to him.
Here are some fun stats that our beloved 'Boys will have to overcome:
1. Tom Brady has never lost to the Dallas Cowboys
2. The Cowboys have not won a road playoff match in 30 years. What?
3. The Cowboys have only won a single game this season on a grass field and it was against the Titans and we almost lost that.
4. Tom Brady in any playoff setting is usually firing on all cylinders. It's Tom Brady!
Stats that are in favor of the Cowboys:
1. Dallas has never lost a playoff match to the Bucs
2. Dallas and Tampa Bay have faced off in 21 games and Dallas leads the overall series 15-6
3. The Cowboys have a history of bouncing back after a really embarrassing game. Especially Dak.
4. This is just me, but aren't we due for a playoff win? C'mon!
Shut down Mike Evans and there is a chance.
The game will be on Monday and anyone that is wearing Cowboy's gear will get 15% off total bill! Let's show up and have a great game. We will not close until the match is over, just in case there is some stupid overtime.
