The Toolbox Training
Spring 2023
Hello everyone and welcome to the Toolbox options for Spring 2023
We have run the Toolbox for a number of terms and we are finding that it has been a great way for people to continue to grow in their faith which is important for us all to do. Following Christ is an ongoing process which takes intentionality. The GBC Toolbox is an opportunity for us to support each other to learn, reflect and grow in areas which we feel we most need in our relationship with God. Brief details of each event are given below. If you would like further information about any event, please speak to the person leading that event.
Most events will be held at GBC, but some are elsewhere and some are online - details are given under each event. For some events we ask that you book your place as this helps with managing the event; for others feel free to turn up on the day - again these details are shown under each event. Where booking is required, please send an email to office@godmanchesterbaptist.org or phone the office on 01480 458565 and leave a message.
And finally, if you have any questions or suggestions for future Toolbox options, please let me know.
God bless
Daniel

Two opportunities each week for further Bible study linked to the Sunday morning celebration preach. When we hear someone preach, it can lead to further questions and reflections that can’t be addressed at the time. These Bible studies are a chance to explore the passage in more depth and consider how it affects our day to day lives.
There is no need to book - and don't feel you have to be there every week; come when you can! Please contact the office for the Zoom link for Tuesday evenings if needed.

Now more than ever, we're all weary from the loads we carry and the challenges we face. We have questions we cannot answer and problems we cannot solve. We'd hoped that life would be an invigorating adventure or an inspiring journey. We never expected to grow so tired so quickly. But Max Lucado’s book “Help is Here” will show you that we can find fresh strength and purpose in the power of the Holy Spirit.
Some copies of the book will be available at GBC; please contact the office if you would like to purchase one.

We ran this course last Autumn in the evening. This time the sessions will be in the afternoon.
Imagine not having to live with the struggles, sins, disappointments, failures, guilt, even shame of the past. Think what it would be like to be set free from all of these … Imagine living life as God intended, no shackles and being free to receive all he wants to give and to reach your full potential. The Freedom in Christ course is designed to help Christians understand better how to walk in the freedom Christ has won for them, live in the light of what the Bible says is true and be more fruitful disciples advancing Christ’s kingdom more effectively. All are welcome however young or mature in faith. This course is a great M.O.T for your Christian walk! Comments from some of those who attended in the Autumn:
- I feel I’m a new person since completing the course
- I’ve learnt a lot about myself
- I have more trust in my walk with God
- Well worth the effort of getting there each week
- My heart is so much lighter
- Blessed that I attended the course
- Would definitely recommend it
For this course, there is a cost of £10 to cover course materials (though please have a word with Carolyn if this is a concern for you).

Where can we find a hope that won't disappoint us? There are few emotions more powerful than hope. But these days, hope often feels hard to come by.
Looking at the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus in Luke's Gospel, HOPE EXPLORED shows that Christianity is about real hope: a joyful expectation for the future, based on true events in the past, which changes everything about my present.
It sounds good ... but is it true? Whatever people do or don't believe, this course offers an opportunity to explore, to discuss, and to discover the hope, peace, and purpose Jesus offers.
Especially good for those who are exploring or new to faith but all welcome.
There will be a small cost to cover course materials (please have a word with Carolyn if this is a concern for you or if you have any other questions)
