School of Rock Auditions – Adults and Youth

All-of-us Express Children’s Theatre (AECT) is excited to bring "School of Rock" to the stage in spring 2023. This will be the first show since 2019 where AECT will be featuring a mixed cast of youth and adults. "School of Rock" follows Dewey Finn, a failed, wannabe rock star who decides to earn extra money by posing as a substitute teacher at a prep school. There, he turns a class of straight-A pupils into a guitar-shredding, bass-slapping, mind-blowing rock band. The show will take place April 28-May 7, 2023.

Auditions will be held Thursday, Feb. 23 and Friday, Feb. 24 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the East Lansing Hannah Community Center (ELHCC), 819 Abbot Road. Those auditioning will only need to attend one of the audition times. The minimum age to audition is 9 years old. Those interested in auditioning can reserve a time slot at https://www.cityofeastlansing.com/816/Auditions.

Additionally, an audition workshop to help potential cast members prepare for the audition experience will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 22 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the ELHCC and costs $15 ($10 for members). Pre-registration is required to attend the workshop and space is limited! To register for the audition workshop, visit the ELHCC or call (517) 333-2580 ext. 0.
