JLens is Hiring!

JLens is hiring two new positions: Managing Director and Director of ESG Research. The job summaries are below, please share with your networks and/or consider applying if the positions are of interest. Thank you!

Managing Director
The Managing Director of JLens is the principal advocate for the organization’s mission, vision and values and, in conjunction with ADL, a partner in building the organization and sustaining its vision. JLens has laid the foundation over the past decade for the Jewish community’s entry into the values-based investing movement. This movement is important because it influences decision making for institutional investors and global corporations, creates positive social and environmental change, convenes faith leaders, and attracts younger investors seeking to invest with their values, while at the same time the movement has incorporated antisemitic and Israel delegitimization (BDS) efforts. Now as part of ADL, JLens is ready to scale and significantly expand its impact and is seeking a self-driven, dynamic and talented Managing Director to lead JLens into this next phase.

Shine A Light on Antisemitism

For the second year, JLens participated in the Shine A Light campaign, which draws on the inspiration of Hanukkah to spotlight antisemitism and anti-Zionism. This year, JLens focused on encouraging companies to launch Jewish or interfaith Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) by sharing best practices for religious accommodations in the workplace and highlighting successful faith-based ERGs at companies that JLens engages with (see examples below).

JLens also shared new ADL resources including a Jewish ERG network, a webinar for DEI professionals, and 'Antisemitism 101 for the Workplace' training course.

Faith-based ERG Case Studies

Texas Instruments has three separate groups, Jewish, Muslim, and Christian, and each hosts events specific to their religion. There are also events co-hosted by these ERGs and with other non faith-based ones as well. When a hostage crisis occurred at a synagogue in North Texas, the three ERGs came together to co-host Holocaust Remembrance Day which fell shortly after, focusing on raising awareness about the rise of antisemitism.
General Dynamics has a group called Faith & H.O.P.E. in Focus which currently has 500 registered members, and supports connecting with others of shared and different faiths, raising awareness, and developing company best practices. In 2022, the group facilitated conversations on Ramadan, Passover, and Easter, and also held an Interfaith Day of Prayer. For Holocaust Rememberance Day, General Dynamics employee Mark Getman, also a rabbi, shared stories and photos from a book written by his father, a Holocaust survivor.
Medtronic hosts a Christian, Jewish, and Muslim ERG, with chapters globally and domestically. In Minnesota, the Jewish ERG runs quarterly programming which is divided between holiday celebrations and other issues of interest to the Jewish community. The group celebrated Sukkot with a discussion of homelessness and Jewish values, and also received a presentation from ADL on antisemitism in the US. The group also hosted a program about Israeli innovation, where a leader of one of the company’s Israel-based businesses led a discussion on Medtronic’s new Israeli born innovations like Mazor and PillCam.
