From Your Lead Minister

We have a big announcement that as of Jan. 1st, April Rosario's position has been increased to three-quarter time, and her title has been changed to Director of Faith Formation and Family Ministries. In this move, we also now have a new half-time Congregational Administrator, Bonnie Harmon, as of Jan. 1st as well. Please join in congratulating both April and Bonnie for their new positions as these are helping to build the infrastructure of the church as it grows! Be sure to mark the date and plan to come to church on Sunday, Jan. 29th, when we will be having Membership Sunday and also honoring April by commissioning her as a Lay Leader in the congregation!

April and her family (spouse Chris and children Mariya and Liam) have been with the First Parish Church since 2015, where Unitarian Universalism first captured her heart, mind, and soul. She has worked tirelessly as our Director of Lifespan Faith Formation since 2018, bringing significant creativity to her work with families, children, and youth. April was recognized as a Credentialed Religious Educator in May of 2022 after completing a three-year continuing education program sponsored by the UUA. April also agreed to support the church as its office/congregational administrator during a time of great transitions this past year. With this new three-quarter time position as the Director of Faith Formation and Family Ministries, and being freed from congregational administrator duties as of Jan. 1st, we look forward to a new burst of programming for adults, families, youth, and children from April, maintaining the vibrancy of all that we offer to our Taunton church community.

Bonnie Harmon began attending First Parish Church in February of 2022 and formally joined as a member at the end of October 2002 - in the meantime, Bonnie has been a familiar face as a volunteer at the food pantry and in many other segments of the community. We welcome Bonnie now as of Jan. 1st as our new half-time Congregational Administrator. Bonnie comes to FPC with a wealth of experiences and background in Human Resources, accounting, payroll, accounts payable - the list goes on and on! Bonnie volunteered substantially with April from October thru December being trained as well. We know we are in excellent hands with Bonnie at the helm of all things administrative for this congregation!
