Alerts for: Metro Montréal - Laval

Special weather statement in effect for:

  • Châteauguay - La Prairie area
  • Laval area
  • Longueuil - Varennes area
  • Montréal Island area

A low pressure system from Colorado is moving toward the province of Quebec while intensifying. More sustained snow will start gradually on Thursday evening over Southern Quebec.

Significant snowfall amounts and blowing snow are expected until Friday, when a changeover to rain is expected. During this transition to rain, a period of freezing rain is possible.

As the cold front passes on Friday evening, precipitation is expected to change back to flurries and taper off on Saturday.

Expect hazardous driving conditions due to visibilities that could rapidly go from good to nil on Thursday and Friday morning. Meanwhile, hazardous driving conditions are possible due to ice accretions on roads and highways on Friday.
