欧州で急成長中だった垂直農業がエネルギー危機によりピンチに

飽食を尽くしてきた私たちの「食」システムは紛争や気候変動、人口爆発などにより崩壊の危機に瀕しています。そんな食料危機の救世主として急成長中だった「バーティカル・アグリ（屋内垂直農業）」が、昨年後半欧州で伸び悩みました。原因はエネルギー危機や経済の低迷。作物の光合成にはLEDが不可欠なため、同技術を展開していた企業の多くが事業縮小方向に。当座は、エネルギーが安価で屋外での農業が難しい中東などでの拡大に期待がかかります。

Vertical Agriculture in Europe Faces a Dilemma Due to the Energy Crisis

Our food system is on the verge of collapse due to international conflicts, climate change and population explosion. Vertical agriculture, which was seen as one of the fastest-growing saviours, experienced sluggish growth in Europe in the second half of 2022, due to the energy crisis and economic downturn. Since LEDs are used for photosynthesis in plants, companies have scaled back their operations. Many seem to be hopeful for expansion in regions such as the Middle East where energy prices are cheaper and outdoor farming is difficult.

歐陸急速成長的垂直農業能否撐過能源危機？

我們的飲食習慣和維持其運作的系統，已經因為世界各地的紛爭和氣候變動、人口爆炸等等而面臨危機。「室內垂直農業」（Vertical Agriculture）作為拯救食糧危機的解決方法之一，在過去幾年急速成長，但是卻在去年的後半段在歐洲呈現停滯狀態，原因是能源危機和經濟的不景氣。發展室內農業需要倚賴LED電力促成光合作用，但是提供這樣服務的公司在去年一一縮編。有部分企業轉向朝比較不受能源危機影響而且室外農業操作困難的中東發展，期望開發新天地。

アウディ、Q8e-tronリリースと工場のリノベで「電気」へのシフトを明確に

アウディは昨年12月、ソーラーパネルに覆われた欧州向け生産拠点であるブリュッセル工場でEV「Q8 e-tron」と「Q8 Sportback e-tron」の生産開始セレモニーを行い、車両・生産ライン双方の「電気」「再生可能エネルギー」へのシフトを明確に打ち出しました。戦後まもなくオープンし、自動車文化の発展を担ってきた街のシンボルである「老舗」の同工場の、EV専用生産ラインへの劇的な変身は、欧州市場におけるガソリン車の時代の終焉を強く印象づけました。

Audi Makes a Strong Impression with their Clear Shift to an Electric Future

In December 2022, Audi held a ceremony to mark the start of the production of their new EV models Q8 e-tron and Q8 Sportback e-tron at its Brussels plant, a production site for the European market that is covered by solar panels. It clearly gave an impression of their shift to electricity and renewable energy usage, both with their vehicles and production lines. The dramatic transformation of the historical plant into an EV production line, strongly signaled the end of the era of petrol-powered vehicles in the European market.

2022年12月，Audi於布魯塞爾工廠召開電動車Q8 e-tron和Q8 Sportback e-tron的動工儀式，此舉讓歐洲大眾深感汽油車時代的結束。布魯塞爾工廠的建築物改建後採用大量太陽能面板，生產的車輛主要供給歐洲內部的需求，此工廠在二次大戰結束不久之後就開始生產汽車，可以說是歷史最悠久的歐洲汽車生產據點之一，它的生產線的變化可以說是為Audi、也為歐洲的EV製造開啟新的一頁。

2022年度版の「サーキュラリティ・インパクト・レポート」がリリース

アムステルダムにベースを置く組織 Circle Economy は、昨年12月に同年度版のインパクトレポートをリリースしました。同組織は2020年のレポートで明らかになった世界の資源の循環率「8.6％」を、2032年までに倍の17％にすることを目標に活動しており、それが実現できれば気候変動関連の災害の多くを回避できるとしています。今月半ばにさらに目標と現状を詳しく分析・比較した「サーキュラリティ・ギャップ・レポート」をリリース予定です。

Amsterdam-Based Circle Economy Releases their annual “Circularity Impact Report”

The Amsterdam-based organisation Circle Economy released its annual impact report in December 2022. The organisation is working towards doubling the global resource circularity rate from 8.6% (identified in its 2020 report) to 17% by 2032, with which they say many climate change related disasters could be averted. Their flagship Circularity Gap Report, which further analyses and compares the target and current situation in detail, will be released this month.

總部設於阿姆斯特丹的非營利組織Circle Economy在2022年12月發表了同年度的Impact Report報告。此組織在2020年的報告裡提到，世界上資源的循環率當前為8.6%，只要在2032年前能夠達到17%的話，就能夠避免大多數的因為氣候變動所帶來的災害，這也成為了此組織的目標。本月中旬此組織即將發表更詳細的現狀分析比較資料「Circularity Gap Report」，值得注目。
