Experience Something Different at Bloom Yoga & Wellness to Bring in the New Year:
Twenty years ago folks said their intention for taking yoga was to stretch their bodies. Now, what they most commonly say to us is they want to reduce stress/anxiety, learn how to focus, prevent mental and physical tensions, and be able to physically and mentally balance (we approach this by fostering coordination, resiliency and self-regulation through various techniques). Bloom offers a different style of yoga that is specifically designed to serve these needs…..both on and off the mat. It is slow mindful yoga that can help reset our nervous systems and brains.
It saddens us that so many folks think they can’t do yoga because they are not flexible and strong. Or it doesn’t help that the yoga industry tells people, “if you can breath, you can do yoga” or publishing photos of positions that most of the general public can’t do. Unfortunately, many folks show up to an exercise yoga class and again become discouraged because what is offered isn’t accessible for them and/or they feel less than. Most of these folks do not want to be in a class where the majority are moving quickly in difficult poses or doing long holdings. However, that type of yoga class might be what someone else wants. As they say, different strokes for different folks. And variety is the spice of life!
At Bloom we share a style of gentle, mindful and accessible yoga. It is the practice of slowing down and “Being” present with sensations in our bodies. Not trying to achieve some external goal like so much of the rest of our lives or yoga exercise by again pressuring ourselves with judgements and expectations. Instead we nurture awareness, acceptance and curiosity. We each discover how movement and breathing resonate best for our individual biology and biography.
Discover how our “innercise” yoga for brain and nervous system health is different from most “exercise” yoga that folks are familiar with either through personal experience or impressions from the media.
Since it is difficult to explain in writing how our style of yoga is different, we have included a conversation and mini-practice video with Cristal and I. We hope your curiosity and self-care interest will guide you to click below….
