Grieving, Hope, Healing
Sunday, January 15 at 6:30 pm
"Did you know that 64% of people with mental illness say the holidays make their conditions worse? A 2021 survey showed that 3 in 5 Americans feel their mental health is negatively impacted by the holidays. People are stressed by busyness, loneliness, financial struggles, loss, seasonal depression, and so many other challenges. To cope, many turn to or increase their alcohol or substance use, relapse, or have increased suicidal thoughts." (American Association of Christian Counselors)
Please join us as we support each other and learn healthy coping techniques.

Sorrow and Hope: Prayers of Lament for Injustice

Lament is more than an expression of sadness, it is prayer that is made in expectation that God does and will act. This time of guided, group prayer meets monthly.

Trafficking in the United States and Our Response
Sunday, January 29 | Immediately following the morning service
Bonnie J. Gatchell from Route One Ministry will help us unpack this issue, the women affected by trafficking, and the best ways, we as followers of Christ, can respond. The Department of Justice estimates that 83% of traffick victims in the United States are United States citizens. 70% of women who work in the sex industry are females who have aged out of the foster care system. #1 reason women leave the sex industry is with a trusting person encouraging them. To find out more join us following the service on January 29th.
Lunch will be provided. Email Janine to RSVP so that we have a headcount.

God's Amazing Story of Redemption & Atonement: The book of Hebrews is the bridge that connects the Old Testament and the New. These covenants are completely different and yet many approach God on the basis of Old Testament Law instead of New Testament faith. The entire book is about Jesus and how He is the guarantee of a new and better covenant. It is essential for every Christian to understand.

Prayer Shawl Ministry
The Prayer Shawl Ministry is busy making prayer shawls to share with anyone in our congregation, friends or family. They are free and are located in boxes in both hallways across from sanctuary doors. We encourage you to share “a hug,” and let the recipient know that Ashland Church cares and we are praying for them.
