The STRIDE Issue

Striding Into 2023

While we’re mindful of the events taking place in our country and our world that feel destabilizing — the anniversary of the January 6th insurrection, the dysfunction in our the House of Representatives, the ongoing conflict in Ukraine — we're putting energy into ways to strengthen ourselves and each other from the inside.

Yesterday, we officially kicked off our Well.Coming 2023 series with a fun and illuminating event focused on Intuitive Eating & Restorative Yoga and Movement. Thanks to all who joined — it was the perfect way to begin our holistic wellness journey.

But we know every body is different. While yoga and mindful movement are exactly what some bodies need, others thrive in a faster-paced, muscle-burning workout. Personally, we’re still figuring out what’s best for us.

So to ensure our wellness series has programming for everyone, we’ve partnered with STRIDE Fitness Lawrenceville — a boutique fitness studio — to offer an introductory class on January 22 and member discounts throughout March.

No matter whether you're a walker, jogger, or runner, STRIDE workouts are meant to be taken at your own pace. Plus, The Salon community will be beside you through every step of the way.

Keep scrolling for a bit more about the STRIDE experience, the intro class, and why every workout ends with sweaty high-fives all around.

Until next week,
—Meredith

Hit Your Stride!

Join The Salon community and STRIDE Fitness Lawrenceville for a heart-pounding and inclusive, introductory class at noon on Sunday, January 22. No need to feel intimidated. Featuring state-of-the-art Woodway treadmills, expert coaches, and a no-one-gets-left-behind spirit, STRIDE is designed to include all levels.

To learn more — and to get a sneak peek at what we can expect — we caught up with Salon member Melissa Anderson, owner of STRIDE Fitness Lawrenceville:

How is STRIDE different from a typical fitness class?

We provide small class sizes, personal connections, and a supportive local community. Our expert coaches create a motivational group experience while also focusing on individual needs — which isn’t the norm for group fitness. We also understand everyone has different goals and needs, and we’ve built an engaging and welcoming environment that makes working out fun, regardless of your starting point.

What can Salon members expect from the introductory class?

Salon members can expect to "choose their own adventure". Whether you want to walk, jog, run, or mix it up, you'll get a good sweat, in a dark room, with energizing lights and music. Classes are limited to 25 people, and the coach will provide a brief intro to the class. Participants are encouraged to discuss any limitations or modifications required with coaches, so they can guide you during class.

What would you say to those who may feel nervous or have never been to a boutique studio?

We’ve got you! While our classes are high-energy and combine high-intensity interval training with weights and floor exercises, they’re designed to be inclusive for all experience levels. Each participant chooses their own pace. Whether your goal is hitting daily step targets, shedding extra holiday pounds, or training for a marathon, STRIDE will help you get there.

Oh, and if you’re hooked, we’ve teamed up to offer Salon members discounted classes through March!

Next, it might be wine tasting and hipster puzzles. Indulge in new things with us! And if it makes you a bit nervous, that might be a good thing. Find out for yourself what we’re all about.
