Sage urges their partners to upgrade Sage 100 subscription customers to a TLS 1.2 compatible version prior to the October 2023 deadline for Sage’s licensing servers to drop TLS 1.0 and 1.1 support. Only Sage 100 subscription versions are impacted as outlined in this compliance update PDF from Sage.

Nancy Teixeira, SVP Partner Strategy, is departing Sage for an unspecified new job on January 6, 2023. There’s no word on who will assume her duties although the announcement suggests an interim appointment will be made shortly.
You may need an IRD for processing 1099 forms for tax year 2022. Sage has IRD information here which also includes the specific combination of supported versions and product updates.

Create MASREG.INI to Quickly Enter Registration Keys During Installations

If you’re like me, you hate the process of entering registration keys during upgrades and new installations of Sage 100.

I’m going to let you in on a secret and something I haven’t seen documented anywhere else.

You can create special file to automatically enter Sage 100 registration keys during a new or upgrade installation of Sage 100.

This is easy and you can re-use this file with each upgrade.

Here are the three steps:

Step 1, open notepad

Step 2, enter the following information

[RegInfo]
Company= ( Company Name entered here )
Reseller=(reseller name)
Serial= (
RegId= ( enter Sage customer number here )
UserKey=
pk1=
pk2=
pk3=
pk4=
pk5=

Step 3, save this to the C: on the server

That’s it. You MUST save this to the root of c: on the server where you are installing Sage 100 (it won’t work if you save it to any other drive).

Now when you begin the installation and are asked for your registration key you’ll find the above registration information pre-filled.

Payroll Tax Table Update Released 1/2/2023

Sage updated their payroll tax table with new rates/changes effective 1/2/2023. This update includes the following states OH, KY, and PA. You should expect more updates as the tax year continues. You can check for updates within Payroll - Utilities - Payroll Tax Update. Sage no longer sends out tax table disks (or downloads). All tax updates are maintained electronically through this utility.

Aatrix Software Requirements

Processing 1099, W2 and related tax reports for 2023 requires the use of Aatrix reporting software. The link to Aatrix is built into Sage 100 and will automatically pass tax data for reporting and filing.

In some cases users may encounter issues with Sage 100 contacting Aatrix servers. This can be due to firewalls or other restrictions on internet access.

The Aatrix support website has a handy Software Requirements page outlining exactly which https sites (and ports) but be accessible in order for Aatrix to make a connection.
