Please join us for worship this Sunday in person at 9:30 or 11:00 am or online at 11:00 am where we will start our new sermon series “Jonah”. Nursery, Preschool, and Kids Ministry groups are available for both services. Those joining us in person have the option of socially distanced seating. You are welcome to wear a mask, but it is not required.

Giving Envelopes   If you would like to give your donations to the church using offering envelopes in 2023, you can pick them up from the church office through the week or from the Welcome Centre on Sundays. Please call the church office to request them if you haven’t already. If you normally give by debit or E-Transfer, you do not need envelopes; you just need to provide your current mailing address to Elaine so she can send you a charitable tax receipt.  (Receipts for 2022 will be sent by the end of February 2023).

Online Study of the book of Galatians. Pastor Rob will be facilitating an online study of the book of Galatians, as taught by Kyle Idleman.  In this video series, Kyle Idleman dives into the book of Galatians, one that contains some of the clearest explanations of the gospel in the New Testament. Through biblical study and engaging lessons, Kyle shows that true freedom is found in surrender, not self-dependence. Because our gospel is not one based on our works, but faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ.  This online study will be held over 6 weeks, Tuesday nights, at 7:30 starting January 17th.  We will watch the short video together and then enjoy a discussion on the material and its application to our own lives. RiverCross Church is sending a short term mission team to El Salvador in 2023. The trip will be two-weeks long, from Friday, October 23rd to Friday, November 3rd. There will be an information session on Wednesday, January 18th, at 7 PM, to provide more details about the trip, explain the process of team selection, and clearly lay out the financial and time commitments involved in team preparation over the next several months. It is very important that you attend this information session if you are an older teen, a young adult, or older adult who is interested in exploring the possibility of serving on this mission team. Hope to see you there!  Please register by clicking here.

As we enter into the new year, Amy will continue to provide an opportunity for anyone interested in art. Once a month you can come and spend an evening exploring fun painting techniques and learning to use that creativity in worship. All supplies will be provided here at the church. We will meet in the RiverKids Zone. Please register so we can prepare for you!

The Ladies Bible Study group will start again on Thursday afternoon January 19 from 2-3:45 pm.  We will be studying 1, 2, and 3 John.  All ladies are invited to join us as we start this new study.

We will be hosting a Winter Retreat for Middle and High School students from January 27-29th at Snider Mountain Ranch. The cost of the event is $75 per person, which includes all meals and transportation for the weekend. More information and registration is available here.
Who's Coming to Dinner We want to give you the opportunity to meet your church family, and what better way, than over a meal!  As our congregation continues to change, it's important to get to know each other, so we are hosting an event called Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner, where someone opens their home to host a meal, and then we fill your table with guests you may not know.  Then, on the weekend of January 28/29 you will share a meal with some people from your church family.  Our preference is that these meals take place at lunch (1pm), after the Sunday service on January 29th, but if that dates does not work, then you could meet on Saturday, January 28th for supper (5:30). You can register to Host or Participate. For more information or to register click here.

Congratulations to Kara and Jeff Shaw on the birth of their baby boy, Charles Alfred Shaw (Charlie), which occurred Monday at 10:34 pm. Congratulations as well to Don and Janet Shaw who are Charlie’s very proud grandparents. May you feel God’s blessing as you’re surrounding Charlie with love.

We wish to extend our condolences to the family and friends of Joanne Lewis, who passed away Thursday, December 29th. May you feel God’s peace as you grieve.
