We hope you had a joyous Christmas and Happy New Year!

We're so excited for all that's in store for St. Paul's children in 2023. If your child hasn't yet been to a Sunday School class, January is a great time to start! In the coming months, there's a lot for children to look forward to at St. Paul's, including a communion class, VBS and more.

Please note that in the New Year, our communications will be going from weekly to monthly, so keep this email!

Some January highlights:
  • This Sunday, January 8th: Sunday School, Children's Chapel and Pre-EYC resume.
  • January 15th: Socks and Undies Sunday: Please help pre-EYC support Note in the Pocket by donating NEW socks and underwear. All sizes (infant-adult) of garments are needed. Gently used shoes and clothing are also welcome. The donation bin is located in the church hallway near the choir room.
We hope to see you soon!

Communion Class info & registration

Our children's communion class is designed to deepen a child's understanding of the Holy Eucharist. The class, taught by clergy, is designed for 1st through 3rd graders. The completion of this class is not a prerequisite for receiving communion. Children are encouraged to bring their questions as they experience God's invitation into the sacrament.

Communion classes will meet 3 times during Lent, from 10:15am to 11am, on the following dates:

Sunday, February 5, 10:15 - 11am
Sunday, February 9,  10:15 - 11am
Sunday, February 12, 10:15 -11am

The students in this class will be honored after communion on Sunday, February 26th at the 9am service.

You may register your child(ren) here.

Children's stewardship update:

The Children of St. Paul's have been collecting an offering at the 9:00am services this school year to benefit Refuge for Refugees Ministry (R4R).

The children have contributed $667.70 this year! Amazing!

Facilitated by the Children's Ministry Committee, the children of St. Paul's used their collection to provide Christmas gifts for all 13 children from the R4R Angel Tree. Leaders from R4R, who know the refugee families well, shopped for each child and selected new (and very cute!) clothes and shoes.

R4R was also able to supply each family with diapers and wipes to care for their young children. The Children's Ministry Committee and R4R worked together to wrap and deliver all the gifts to each family in time for Christmas.

Mother Alice, Sunday School teachers, and R4R volunteers will be sharing this story with St. Paul's children in the coming weeks, and we encourage families to reflect on how St. Paul's children made God's love tangible for refugee families.
The children's offering resumes on January 8. We will discern how to serve the refugee families with the offerings this spring.

Check out all the gifts that went to children from the R4R Angel Tree!
