Welcome to your latest newsletter from satsearch

Hello and welcome back to the satsearch newsletter - happy new year to you!

Hope you had a restful holiday break, if you took one, and are refreshed and ready to go in 2023.

In these emails, we share trending stories from the industry along with insights from our own work building, operating, and advocating for the global marketplace for space.

We only have a short edition for you today, just to catch up on a few of the stories you may have missed over the holiday period.

But before we dive in and take a look at them, we wanted to let you know about a free live event we’re running next week - which we think is going to be a great way to kick off the year!

(Please note, you're receiving this email because you registered to be a part of our mailing list on satsearch.com.)

HOW DO YOU AVOID TAKING ENDLESS PICTURES OF CLOUDS WHEN IMAGING FROM A SATELLITE?

On average, clouds cover 60-70% of the Earth’s surface and this can have serious impacts for imaging from satellites.

We're organising a live demo to show how onboard cloud detection improves remote sensing missions - leading to cost reductions in downlinking and data analysis processes.

Paolo Madonia, Product Manager of satsearch member AIKO, will explain how cloudy_CHARLES, AIKO’s onboard software application for cloud detection, addresses this issue.

The demo will take place on the 11th of January at 16:00 CET | 15:00 UTC.
