Dear High School Teachers,

Happy New Year! Would you believe that we just took a peek at Scienteer and that we already have 255 students registered for MSSF? And we’re sure there are more students to come. Make sure that they set up their accounts in Scienteer and get parental permission by MLK Day, January 16. If Scienteer tells you that registration is closed, check out our October 13 eNews for instructions on opening registration.

Once we have our list of potential attendees, we’ll send a scholarship survey to juniors and seniors. They’ll have a couple of weeks to complete the survey, which lets us know which scholarships they’d like to be considered for. We’ve just added St. Joseph’s College to our list of participating colleges and universities. That brings us to approximately $775,000 in scholarships offered this year!

On another note: as part of our Equitable Access grant from Society for Science, we’ll be forming a focus group of teachers to help us work through how we can be more inclusive to students who may have had difficulty with the format of MSSF in the past. If you would like to join this focus group, email Stefany at sburrell@mmsa.org.

See you in the New Year,

The MSSF Team
