Are You Ready To Join Our Operation Transformation Walks?

OK, the New Year is upon us and the big question is: Are you ready to get out for a walk a
few times a week as part of our involvement with Operation Transformation?

First the good news: the walks will be geared to your fitness levels so don’t feel overawed.

If for instance you haven’t done any walking or real exercise for a while, well join the club
as most of us are in the same boat.

Consequently we are having a beginner's level where we will walk a gentle few thousand
steps a night and see how we go from there.

For others who want a more advanced challenge, we will have a separate group who will go off for a brisker walk but again it won’t be more than members of the group want.

We are starting our walking groups this Monday night at 7pm but please arrive 10-15
minutes earlier to register so that we can start on the hour.

Our aim is to do the walks on Mondays and Fridays for the coming 10 weeks so it is a great way to get 2023 up and active for you.

The one thing you can be sure of is that you will be warmly welcomed at the clubhouse for registration and we look forward to seeing you all.

County Board Honours Our Jackie

This week our club gor the singular honour of seeing one of  its  most venerable members, Jackie Napier, being unanimously elected as president of Wicklow GAA.

The Bray man has been our representative at county board level for more than half a century and in that time has always battled hard for our causes at this level.

A passionate hurling man, Jackie has had the pleasure of seeing unparalleled success within our club with seven recent senior county titles and a once in a lifetime Leinster Intermediate title annexed only a matter of weeks ago.

Jackie joins a stellar cast of great names previous honoured in the President position
including the late Peter Keogh as well as Bray Emmets’ men Aodh Ó Broin and Matt
Britton.

So congratulation Jack on your knighthood and remember folks when you meet him next,
you address him as Mr President from now on.

Back To Business

The club executive will hold its first meeting of ’23 next Wednesday at 7.30pm in the clubhouse.
This group has served the club well over the past number of years and this year faces advancing a number of exciting projects. We will keep you posted.

Garden County Awards Night

Wicklow County Board is holding its Garden County Awards Night on Saturday 4th March 2023 in The Arklow Bay Hotel.

After two years of not being able to hold our awards night some of our club members may
be interested in keeping this date free to enjoy the social gathering
where a number of our
own members will be honoured.
