New Tourist Board Event Series Starts Tomorrow at 6 p.m. 
 
Residents, tourists and visitors are invited to enjoy the best Surfside has to offer every first Saturday of the month starting tomorrow, Jan. 7. The monthly Saturday night will take place outdoors in front of Town Hall and feature three different activation zones that will hold creative acts, live performances, music, food and local vendors. 

Join us tomorrow for the first event featuring:

•Live music via Miami-based collective Bòfré band

•6:45 p.m. Interactive Brazilian Samba percussion circle by Miami Bloco

• Capoeira Brazilian martial arts demonstration by Evolve Miami

• Fire dancers demonstration throughout

• Complimentary cold-pressed juice by SUJA Juice

• ·Screen-printing workshop via Hueman Prints (make your own screen-printed t-shirt)

• Community book swap (bring your gently-used books and/or grab a book)

• Complimentary cocktails from Drake's Organic

• Food from Luna Rossa Cucina, Daddyz Island, Fialkoff's Pizza and other local vendors

• Astroturf "parklet" with bean bags, lounge chairs and bleachers

• Local vendor marketplace with foods, crafts and artisanal goods

Daily Lane Closures/Mergers at the 500 Block of 96th Street

Bal Harbour Village Police has advised that there will be daily lane closures/mergers in the 500 block of 96th Street from 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. until further notice. These adjustments are necessary to accommodate the Bal Harbour Shops expansion project. Both eastbound and westbound traffic will be affected. Please plan accordingly.

Town Partners with Miami-Dade County for Resilient 305 Initiative 

The #Resilient305 county-wide initiative will prioritize, evaluate and implement long-term resiliency projects for community sustainability. This program is a progressive and adaptive approach to mitigating climate change by enhancing natural and urban systems, improving utility efficiency and reducing the effects of climate change to the community.

Manhole Rehabilitation Project 

The Public Works Department will be starting a Town-wide manhole rehabilitation project during the first week of January.
Please expect minor delays in residential areas, Collins and Harding Avenue over the duration of the project. Periodic notifications regarding the location of work will be sent to residents on a weekly basis. 

The project locations will start near the Isle of Biscaya and progress north until completion in the spring. 

Special Commission Meeting & January Town Commission Meeting

Tuesday, Jan. 10 at 5:30 p.m., the Town of Surfside Commission will hold a Special Meeting. Following the Special Meeting, the Regular Jan. Town Commission Meeting will begin at 7 p.m.
The meetings will air LIVE on Channel 663.
