Scottish Government Consultation

 
At the end of December Scottish Government published a consultation on a proposal to introduce a 2035 target for the supply of thermal energy by heat networks in Scotland. The consultation will run for 12 weeks, closing 11th March 2023. The consultation can be accessed and responses provided at:

Ofgem Consultation

 
 
Ahead of being appointed as the heat networks regulator through the Energy Security Bill, Ofgem has identified several topic areas they would like to explore with interested stakeholders ahead of further consultation in the 2023. This includes questions related to the regulatory framework, compliance & enforcement, monitoring & reporting, consumer protection, technical standards and decarbonisation. European and UK innovation funding opportunities |
In person | 26th Jan

 

This in-person session will provide an opportunity to network with other innovative companies and researchers and learn about the latest innovation funding opportunities for heating cooling and the built environment.

Scottish Enterprise Green Energy Centre (SEGEC) and BE-ST are co-hosting this in person session, which will provide and opportunity to find out more about Horizon Europe funding and Innovate UK funding for heat, energy and built environment projects. Mass rollout of heat pumps feasible, but innovation needed to accelerate take up, according to the new findings from the ‘Electrification of Heat’ Demonstration Project.

EHPA calls for Heat pump accelerator 

The European Commission's targets mean the amount of newly plugged in heat pumps must double each year. In response, EHPA is calling for an EU heat pump accelerator to help lead to 20 million more heat pumps by 2026 and 60 million by 2030.
