Christmas Tree Collection
Concord Christmas Tree Collection started on Monday, January 2 and will continue next week through January 13. Residents with curbside trash collection can place their trees curbside for disposal on their trash collection day.

Trees must be placed at the curb with residential trash and recycling by 7 a.m. to not miss collection. All lights, ornaments, tinsel, and decorations must be completely removed from the tree. Wreaths and artificial trees will not be collected. Trees will be collected with a separate truck from trash and recycling, so items may be collected at different times.

Trees can also be taken to the Concord Transfer Station at 77 Old Turnpike Road during the month of January for free. The transfer station is open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

CONCORD PARKS & REC NEWS
Year in Review
Check out our highlights of 2022 in our Year in Review! Thank you for another great year! The full document is available online at www.concordparksandrec.com
Warm Weather Field Issues
With the recent warmer than normal weather, the Parks and Recreation Department would like ask everyone to stay off all athletic field areas (including dog walkers) in the parks. The ground is not frozen and any damage done now will prevent fields from opening on time in the spring.

We would also like to remind the community to stay off of all outdoor ice skating areas until they are deemed safe and the ice reaches the required thickness. Indoor ice skating is available at the
Everett Arena.
Community Visioning Charrette Public Meeting - Jan. 19
On Thursday, Jan 19 at 6 p.m. the City will hold a public meeting to help create a Master Plan for Kiwanis Riverfront Park and Merrimack River Recreation and Open Space Corridor. The meeting will take place at the City Wide Community Center at 14 Canterbury Road.

In this year’s budget we have funds approved to undertake a Community Visioning Charrette to establish a master plan for Kiwanis Park, the Everett Arena, and City owned agricultural land between Terrill Park and Loudon Road (collectively referred to as the Merrimack River Recreation and Open Space Corridor). The goal of the process is to develop a comprehensive vision and strategy for these assets. From this process, a definitive Master Plan shall be developed and implemented for these properties. Please join us as we explore opportunities.
