A seemingly normal day at the market in Congo last Spring turned tragic when lightening severed a power cable, causing it to fall into a water-filled ditch. Twenty-six women were killed instantly, including two widowed mothers from the church of one of our ECM trainers. The two widowed mothers left behind eight orphans. ECM was able to partner with the local church to find Christian foster families for the orphans.
Pictured here are the Katangas, an adoptive family, with their own children and the foster children they have taken in.

People with albinism need sunscreen to protect their skin from the sun, but it is hard to get access to it in African countries. That's why ECM is currently working to build a lab at one of our Hope Centers where we can produce our own sunscreen! 💪
