2023 TAAA CONVENTION ALMOST HERE!
We are looking forward to seeing everyone in Lubbock next week. If you are not already registered, you can still sign up at the registration desk at the Convention.
There’s a very limited number of rooms left at the Overton Hotel, and even though we have filled our room block the hotel will still give you the group rate of $139 a night if they have any regular rooms left.
Here’s 10 things we want you to know about the 2023 convention:
  1. EXHIBIT HALL.  We have sold out the Exhibit Hall and we expect our usual first-class show.
  2. FREE BOOZE. Due to the generosity of Sponsors, all of the alcohol will be free of charge at the Exhibit Hall, Welcome Reception and Awards Banquet. Please drink responsibly!!!!!!!
  3. WOMENS PROGRAM. Patricia Bruton, with the help of Geron and Jamie Jeffcoat, has put together a wonderful Women’s Program. The ladies will depart the hotel lobby at 11:00 am on Wednesday. Their first stop is a tour of the Fibermax museum and then they are going to lunch at Cook’s Garage, followed by a wine tasting at McPherson Cellars. The entire program is free of charge, and you don’t have to be registered to attend. It would be helpful to get a headcount so please let us know if you’re planning to participate.
  4. DRAW DOWN.   The $5,000 prize is back!
  5. GUNS. There are several guns for the Raffle and the Auction.
  6. ANCILLARY CLASSES. We have eliminated the charges for the engine seminars, GPS seminars and other programs on Wednesday and Thursday that compliment the CEU Program for the main convention. Thanks to Pratt & Whitney for this suggestion.
  7. GOLF. Please note that the golf tournament will start at 11:00 am, not at noon as earlier indicated. There will be a box lunch for each golfer. Please contact Will Garret if you have any questions or want to register late to play. Will’s cell number is 979-864-7211.
  8. AG Commissioner Miller. TDA Commissioner Miller will once again keynote the Governmental Affairs Luncheon on Thursday. His remarks are always well received!
  9. HAMBURGERS AND STEAKS. Jackie Gholsen and his team are once again cooking the food for the Welcome Reception and the Awards Banquet. As everybody who has been to our events knows, it’s way better than hotel food!!! The offsite venues for these two events are called Depot Patio and the American Windmill Museum. Both are within 10 minute drives from the hotel.
  10. PRIZES GALORE. In addition to guns, free alcohol and money the attendees will have a chance to win a brand new iPad and a Yeti Hopper.
If you have any questions please contact Convention Co-Chairs Logan Lane or Anthonie York, or TAAA staff Alli Moff or Christina Dean.
