Resiliency & Hope in the Midst of Persecution
When Sithy and his wife, Saobot, arrived in the United States in March of 2022, he was not sure what his life would look like. He had been rejected, persecuted, and imprisoned for his political affiliation in Cambodia.

“When I left Cambodia, I didn’t have any hope,” Sithy says. "I felt like I was floating in the middle of the sea.

Finally, when Sithy arrived in the United States with his wife and children, he gained a hope that he had never thought possible. Read the rest of their story >>

World Relief Affirms the Administration's Proposal of Expanding Legal Pathways for Those Fleeing Hardship

Recently, President Biden announced a series of new immigration policies seeking to address the challenges at the U.S. - Mexico border. The Biden administration plans to significantly expand parole programs for individuals from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua and Venezuela — allowing individuals with U.S.-based sponsors to lawfully enter the U.S. and be authorized to work upon arrival — while creating new restrictions for individuals from these and other countries who arrive at the U.S.-Mexico border and wish to seek asylum.

World Relief welcomes the expansion of lawful mechanisms for entry for individuals from these countries and is eager to partner with local churches to facilitate their integration, but opposes new proposals that would deny due process to those seeking refuge in the United States along the border.

For more information about this decision as well as how you can get involved in advocating for this particular issue, we invite you to take a look at the following statement from CEO of World Relief, Myal Greene, and SVP of Advocacy & Policy, Jenny Yang.

Airport Pick-Up & Transportation Volunteers Needed
A new fiscal year has started and that means the continued increase of new refugee families It's an exciting and busy time at World Relief, and we need even more help with welcoming families.

We want to welcome our new neighbors with bright, smiling faces the minute they arrive at the airport. And soon after that, as they begin to attend various ESL and cultural orientation classes and other appointments, we would love to have the community surround them with support by providing rides.

If you are interested in assisting us with airport pick-ups and transportation, please let us know!

If you're a current volunteer and have hours to log, you can do so here >>

Our next volunteer training takes place on Saturday, the 14th of January at 9AM on Zoom. Click here to sign-up!

A Recap of Giving at the end of 2022
We were incredibly grateful and blown away by the generosity demonstrated at the end of the year in 2022. While funds still remain to be recorded, currently, we have received at least $21,000 in online gifts for the month of November and at least $37,000 in online gifts in December. This does not include the gifts given by various churches and businesses during the last few months of the calendar year.

We would not be World Relief Triad without the local support of partners such as yourself. Now, we can go into this year more equipped than ever before, certain and ready to serve those who are arriving from uncertain circumstances. As we head into 2023, we invite you to come alongside us in continuing to welcome more than we ever have previously in the Triad.
