I’m also sharing a video link showing how to photograph snowflakes that was sent to me from Mike Glasheen. This looks like a fun shoot. Thank you Mike.
There was a suggestion that, after a Wednesday meeting, since everyone will already be here, we might think about moving directly to a field trip to a nearby location such as Heads Pond or the Hooksett River Walk, weather allowing.
More demonstrations during or after a meeting was also suggested.
Our next meeting is Wednesday January 18th. There will be no challenge for this meeting. Instead we will use this meeting to talk about our current lower level gallery images. To this end, we handed out a sheet with critiquing guidelines. I suggested members use the link, (Current Lower-Level Gallery) provided below in the newsletter to review the images in the lower level gallery. Then, using the guidelines, discuss whether these images fit the criteria?
Happy Photographing,
Doris & Mike

How I Did It - The Set-up and Result
Submitted by Dan Beaudet
The external flash on my camera was outfitted with a flash diffuser by Cygnustech. A modeling light was enabled in the flash to provide a steady illumination for focusing. Subject background didn’t matter since my goal was to simply compose the shot in close for the flower detail. Then by subtlety moving the camera in and out to get the illuminated focus point right I took the shot. Multiple images were required to get the one handheld photo I liked. The series was captured at 1/15, f8, ISO800.
