Adaire Library Book Donations

Over the past few months the library has gone through a transformation. Old books have been replaced with more updated titles and copies. But we aren’t finished yet!

We are still hoping to obtain popular books and missing books in a Series.

If anyone has any books listed on the library WISH LIST and could donate them to our library

it would be greatly appreciated. Please email our library volunteers at adairelibraryvolunteers@gmail.com so we can remove it from our list and coordinate a drop off at school or a pickup at your house.

SAC Enrichment & Engagement Meeting

We are hosting our next Enrichment & Engagement meeting of 2023 via Zoom on Jan 11 at 7:30 PM. Anyone can join and we'd love to hear your ideas on ways to add more enrichment opportunities for the rest of the year. On the agenda for sure:

- Science Fair support

- Career Week

- Read Across America Week

and time allowing, looking ahead to events to support in April-June. Email adairesac.enrichment@gmail.com to get the Zoom link!

Correction Meet School Safety Officer Henson
A previous e-news listed Officer Henson's as Officer Hanson

My name is School Safety Officer Henson. I am a Philadelphia native and the mother of five children. I enjoy going to church service and relaxing at home, watching Netflix. I started my relationship with the School District of Philadelphia in 2020, as a Custodial staff member.

My role, however, did not stop there. I was sure to create and build a bond with each and every student that I crossed paths with throughout the day. I enjoyed being a listening ear, helping them fix their clothes or tie their shoes. Overall, I wanted the young scholars to know that they were in a safe, loving, and caring environment. I, unfortunately, lost a son to gun violence in Philadelphia, so the care and safety of our students is something that is very important to me.

I am now honored to serve as Adaire’s School Safety Officer, and will create and build the same bonds to ensure that each and every child feels this is their home, away from home!
