Taiwanese American Community Happenings

Gathering Taiwanese American Community at Emeryville’s “Good to Eat”

On December 4, TaiwaneseAmerican.org founder Ho Chie Tsai gathered Taiwanese American foodies, media personalities, and community builders for a special “ja ban bae” (呷飽未 / 吃飽沒) tasting menu at Emeryville’s Good to Eat (GTE) Dumplings.

TAP-SF's Internal VP, Peter Chu, had the special pleasure of representing TAP-SF at the gathering while meeting leaders across the Taiwanese American community. Attendees shared an old-school Taiwanese banquet while learning about the elements of culture and identity that GTE aims to incorporate into each dish they create and serve.

SPARK Accel - Virtual Tech Accelerator for Taiwanese Americans is Back!

SPARK Accel, the nation’s first virtual accelerator and network for Taiwanese American entrepreneurs and leaders, will be holding its second program in April 2023. The program started in 2021 with 6 companies and a mentor group that included Kevin Lin (Cofounder of Twitch), Patrick Lee (Cofounder of Rotten Tomatoes), Wes Kao (Cofounder of Maven), Chieh Huang (Cofounder of Boxed), and Jonathan Chen (Cofounder of FiscalNote) among others.

We’re excited to be back and will be holding in-person socials across the U.S. in the next couple of months. Although our San Francisco social has already happened, we still have socials in other cities across the U.S. If you happen to be traveling to Boston or NYC in the near future, we'd love to see you at a social below. Please also spread the word to any friends living around those areas too!

- Boston on Wednesday, January 11, 2023
- New York City on Wednesday, January 18, 2023

In addition, we are currently recruiting for the SPARK Accel Leadership Team. It’s a great way to build relationships and a program that supports our community. Check out our openings and apply!

If you have any questions, please email spark@tacl.org.
