Dear <<First Name>>,

Happy new year to you and yours, and may 2023 bring you all the energy you need to reach your goals and meet your expectations 🙌 We are excited to begin a brand new year together and at The Allyance, we would like to start with a big news:

Our training programs are now Qualiopi certified!

For those of you who don't know what Qualiopi is: it is a French certification delivered to training institutions and companies that observes their rigorous and selective criteria, and which acts as a proof of quality 🎉

It has been an arduous but very rewarding 💪 and enlightening processus to make sure our training programs respect all of the criteria required by Qualiopi, in terms of process and quality, and we are now very honoured and proud to share the good news with you!

Discover our new and improved Diversity page 👇

✅ The Allyance newsletter provides many useful references on recruitment, diversity and inclusion. What follows are some stimulating articles about the importance of pronouns, diversity in the workplace, remote management, a few tech tools and a French 🇫🇷 article about meritocracy.

OF THE IMPORTANCE OF PRONOUNS

🙏🏻 Inclusion means acknowledging our differences and making room for them in the workplace. As such, today I would like to share this article with you about the importance of pronouns, what it means in the workplace, and why they matter.

Pronouns are something deeply personal and related to the very identity of the person. Now, we all have biases leading us to make assumptions, but this article does a very good job at explaining why and how we should strive to get rid of those biases to make sure to show respect and include everyone.

A point to highlight: this article gives you a list of do’s and don’t for when you make mistakes and use the wrong pronouns or misgender a person 📝

Quote: “We all make mistakes and that’s okay. It’s all about how you react and recover. When you misgender someone or use the wrong pronouns, apologize, move on, and try harder next time. Keep your apology brief and don’t make it about you.

INCLUSION GOES BEYOND DIVERSITY

🙌 The title of this article says it all “Diversity in the workplace isn’t enough, businesses need to work toward inclusion” and at The Allyance, we couldn’t agree more.
From the assumptions everyone agrees on the fact Diversity is good for businesses, companies must go above and beyond to make sure they are inclusive. From the leadership positions to everyone in a company, inclusion should be made a state of being and not an OKR in a list of goals to reach.

This article gives excellent advice to start the work, and good reminders 👇

Quote: “Inclusion is everyone’s responsibility and doesn’t end after the hiring stage. If organizations truly want to retain diverse employees and have them be successful, they need to make consistent and sustained efforts to support the integration of these employees in the workplace.

WHAT GREAT REMOTE MANAGER DO DIFFERENTLY

🚀 We all know being a manager is a full-time job but what separates a manager from a great manager? A good question, especially after the massive shift to remote work that occurred with COVID-19.

This study gives you some answers. For example, it shows that the difference between micro-management, which hinders productivity and efficiency, and micro-understanding, which on the contrary boosts and motivates teams, is subtle but there.
As the article points out, managers should be enablers and not enforcers, so read and discover the Do's and Don't of great remote managers 🎤

Quote: “Checking in is about fostering interpersonal trust and connection. Remote work lacks opportunities for spontaneous connection and coaching. They need to be created. While checking in was popular in the initial days of the pandemic, it has gone down in importance and frequency over time, with managers feeling exhausted by the emotional drain it causes. However, check-ins are necessary in a remote working environment since most employees view their immediate managers as the most important link they have with their organization.
