NEW DOWNTOWN OKC PARTNERSHIP
PRESIDENT AND CEO ANNOUNCED
HELP US WELCOME JENNIFER NAKAYAMA

Downtown OKC Partnership is pleased to announce that Jennifer Nakayama will lead the organization as President and CEO beginning February 2023. Nakayama will join DOKC from Waikiki Business Improvement District (WBID), where she has served as President and Executive Director for nearly six years.
Nakayama will assume her role on February 13, 2023. Jane Jenkins announced in December 2022 that she will remain part-time with the organization through April 2023.

Every Second Saturday is FREE!
Let the kids explore all of the exhibits at the Oklahoma Hall of Fame and Gaylord-Pickens Museum during See You Saturdays. Admission is free for all ages on the second Saturday of each month, check it out this weekend January 14.
The first hour of the program, 9am-10am is specifically for individuals with sensory sensitivities. Lights will be lowered and music will be played softly. Plus, check out the Sensory Wall and Calming Room!

2023 theme is MLK HIStory: Our Legacy
The Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday Coalition has been organizing the MLK Jr. Holiday Parade and Celebration for 40 years. All are welcome to join in honoring Dr. King and keeping his dream alive in Oklahoma City. Register your group to march in the parade or head downtown to watch it on January 16 at 2pm. The parade begins at NW 6th on Walker Ave. and heads south to Reno Ave. See parade route here.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebrations in the Gardens
Bring the entire family to celebrate the life, legacy, and message of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at Myriad Gardens' annual MLK Day Celebration in the Park House and Crystal Bridge Lobby on January 16.
The day will include honoring local community leaders, musical performances, crafts and activities, and other scheduled programming. VOICES, an art exhibit featuring six local Black artists, will also be on display in the Visitor Lobby.

exhibITion: The Only Way Out is Through featuring Romy Owens
amshot’s next art opening, exhibITion: The Only Way Out Is Through, will feature artwork from Romy Owen’s latest series, The Mandalas—intricate webs that present possible portals to another dimension.
The opening will take place at amshot, located at 428 Dean A. McGee Ave., on Thursday, January 26 from 5pm to 8pm.

The Devon Ice Rink remains open through January
The Devon Ice Rink located at the Myriad Gardens will remain open for skaters through Sunday, January 29. The rink will have special holiday hours on Monday, January 16 for Martin Luther King Jr. Day from 11am-9pm. Follow the Devon Ice Rink on social media for up-to-date opening hours.

🚧 Main St. and Broadway Ave. - Sidewalk and Ramp Construction
- Traffic Control: Northbound Broadway Ave. will be closed between Main St. and Park Ave. There will be two southbound lanes open during this time.
- Estimated Construction Timeline: 1/3/23 – 1/27/23
🚧 NW 8th St. and Hudson Ave. - BRT Related Construction
- Traffic Control: North and Southbound Hudson Ave. will be closed between NW 8th and 7th St. The intersections will remain open during this time.
