This week we're featuring a tool for provisioning macOS VMs.

Plus we've also got a tool for in-app surveys and a brand new App Store optimisation tool.

vertuu - Provision macOS VMs

Vertuu ephemeral macOS virtual machines (VMs) are a useful tool for iOS continuous integration (CI) testing. These VMs allow developers to run tests on macOS operating systems without the need for physical hardware. They can be run on on-premise Macs, managed Macs, or Amazon Web Services (AWS) EC2 Mac instances, and are specifically designed for use in CI/CD (continuous integration and continuous delivery) environments.

In addition to being used for testing purposes, vertuu ephemeral macOS VMs can also be used to proactively detect security vulnerabilities in the CI/CD environment. Ephemeral macOS VMs are a convenient way to run macOS for iOS development and testing and are useful for ensuring the quality and security of software being built and deployed.

SurveyLoop - in-app survey SDK

In the app game, we rarely get second chances to make a good impression, so feedback is crucial.

In our time, we’ve gathered feedback in many ways, including embedding TypeForms within a web view (eurgh!).

So far, nothing has felt easy. So we’re excited that SurveyLoop is building a way to make in-app feedback easier.

What we like:

  • Swift SDK for posting events
  • Surveys can be triggered by in-app events and managed with a Zapier-like interface
  • Marketing/product teams can edit and analyse forms without needing developers

Astro - ASO for iOS developers

Matteo Spada is one of the nicest people in the iOS community and has just launched his much anticipated ASO tool - Astro

Astro helps you find the best keywords for your app, track your progression, search across 60 stores, and much more.

What we like:

  • Simple to use
  • Affordable pricing - only $59 per year
  • Matteo is a big part of the iOS community
Bonus - This week Matteo is sharing a free copy of his book Introduction to App Store Optimization

dataTile - replace logs with a visual data debugger

dataTile for Simulator is a smart developer tool that reads your app's logs from the Xcode Simulator in real time and displays your debug data in a beautiful UI.

You can forget about digging through the debugger output in Xcode's console and simply see your data with no code changes or manual configuration.

SwiftUIX - filling the gaps in SwiftUI

The goal of SwiftUIX is to complement the SwiftUI standard library, offering hundreds of extensions and views that empower you, the developer, to build applications with the ease promised by the revolution that is SwiftUI.
