Dear Applicant,
Thank you for your interest in our first Founder’s New Year Boost $1,000 Grant! It has been a dream of mine since I founded Black-Owned Syracuse in 2018 to give away grants to Black entrepreneurs. This is the first of many!
I know first hand how the beginning and the end of the year can be the toughest quarters for entrepreneurs, so I want to help a fellow Black entrepreneur get a boost for the first quarter of the year.
Please read this carefully before clicking the link to submit your application.
In order to qualify, you must complete the following:
1. Follow Black-Owned Syracuse and Black-Owned Central New York on social media:

2. Pay a $10.00 administrative fee or get the fee waived if you post our food & drink festival event flier on 3 different days on your social media account (not just your stories). You can find more information about the event here: www.ATasteofBlackCuse.com.
If you choose to pay:
You can pay the fee via Cash app or Venmo after you complete the application.

If you don't have CashApp or Venmo, you will be able to pay with a debit or credit card on the application.
If you choose to post:
You will receive an email with a special flier after your application is submitted.
PLEASE NOTE: Whether you choose to pay the fee or post the flier does not decrease or increase your chance of getting selected, but it determines whether or not your application will be considered. You must either pay the administrative fee or promote the flier 3 times on different days to be considered.
The deadline to submit your application and follow the rules is January 15, 2023 by 11:59 pm. The winner will be announced on my New Year (My Birthday!), which is February 11, 2023. Funds will be allocated soon after.

As a token of my appreciation for all who have applied, I am launching Black-Owned Syracuse’s “First to Know” list, which is an exclusive newsletter list for your eyes only. It has never and will never be announced publicly, so it’s our little secret. You will be offered a percentage off of event vendor fees as well as special codes for our future products and services. You will also get priority if you apply for future grants. We plan to give away more grants in 2023, and launch a few projects. As long as you participate, you will stay on the list.
