The midterm elections saw continued bipartisan support for justice reform. Our latest blog post highlights some of the biggest pro-reform changes made.
The ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union) put together a piece on some of the highlights from the midterm elections and how they impact the justice system. Notably, the legalization and decriminalization of drugs were a big win for justice reform.
The Libertarian Party put out a great article on the current issues in the Alabama state prison system. Alabama has one of the highest rates of incarceration in the country, and its prison system is failing. This story is a prime example of the changes needed in the justice system.
Back in 2018, the FSA (First Step Act) promised to release incarcerated people who earned credits for meaningful programming work. However, the system has failed to calculate these credits automatically, causing many delays. This article provides an update on the ongoing issue.
