"Behold, I make all things new..."
Revelation 21:5 (ASV)

Dear Friends and Family,

Today marks Day 1 of 2023.  I wanted to pass along CCFS Newsletter Content Updates to include these news worthy updates below.

May the Lord bless you and keep you as you enter the new year ahead.

I realize some things in your life may not change in the new year.  I don't want to gloss over or pretend things are okay just because our culture makes a big deal of the new year.

If you're inclined toward making resolutions and need a few ideas, may your heart resolve to these kinds of things:

  • Deeper faith and belief in the gospel of Christ
  • Increased dependence on the Father's love and grace
  • Greater attentiveness to walking in obedience by the Spirit
  • Humble clarity about the sin in your heart
  • Knowing and loving Jesus more than ever
  • Recognizing more readily God's goodness and mercy at work in your life

What will you add to this list?

I realize some of last year's suffering and hardships will carry over.  Even so, may I offer a word of encouragement.

There will be a day will the Lord will make all things new, and they will be bigger and better than the newness of a passage of time (like a New Years Day), and they will be more beautiful than the new flowers that bloom every season or even the best sunrises that appear every day.  It will be more awesome than anything we can imagine.

But, as it is written, "What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him"
[1 Corinthians 2:9 ESV]

In the meantime, may we rest knowing that God's daily provision of new mercies are sufficient, they are good and they are what we need.

The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
[Lamentations 3:22-23 ESV]

Do You Need A Bible Reading Plan For 2023?

It’s the time of year to renew our efforts to read the Bible in a systematic and organized way.

There is nothing important to the well-being of our soul than the Word of God being internalized in its deepest parts.

Trouble and difficulty await us. We are naturally prone to forgetfulness; to fear; to ignorance which demands a need for wisdom to manage and live our lives in a God-honoring way.
