City Manager Update

Planning and Building Permits Now Online

In a continuing effort to improve customer service and streamline the permitting process, Larkspur is now accepting building, public works and planning permits online! This system is available 24 hours a day - 7 days a week.

eTRAKiT is a customer friendly web-based system that allows for online submittal, payments and electronic approval of plans. It tracks all permits, inspections, site plan reviews, and code enforcement violations. eTRAKiT will improve collaboration between departments and allows for reporting. The system is integrated with the City’s GIS system, providing the capability for data analysis based on geospatial data.

As with any project of this magnitude there could be unanticipated challenges during the transition to the new online permitting system. Your patience is appreciated.

  • Flocked trees will not be accepted.
  • Apartment building tenants should contact their manager and request that they set up one day for holiday tree collection at the property.

Heavy Rain and Flood Warning

Fueled by the atmospheric river, much of the Bay Area saw extended periods of heavy rain and wind as the front moved eastward through the region. As rain continues this weekend into next week, please take the following precautions to protect yourself and your property:

  • Avoid driving or walking through flooded areas.
  • Keep a close eye on local weather reports and follow any evacuation orders issued by local authorities.
  • If you live in an area prone to flooding, consider sandbagging your property to prevent water damage. The City has two self-service locations where sandbags and sand can be picked up at no charge: Piper Park Parking Lot (near the playground area) and the intersection of Midway Road and Diane Lane (near Heatherwood Park). Please bring your own shovel.
  • Keep a supply of non-perishable food, bottled water, and other essentials on hand in case you need to stay indoors for an extended period of time.
  • Remember that ReadyMarin.org provides detailed resources, including emergency grab-and-go packing checklists, that can be helpful for residents to prepare for the unexpected.
