Welcome to this last issue of the health management newsletter for 2022!

We would like to thank you for your continued commitment and support which proved essential for the accomplishment of multiple successes. Over the past twelve months, we worked to strengthen our portfolio of initiatives, enrich the program of the Annual Conference, and continue to share knowledge on health management through several events and webinars.

In this last issue of our newsletter we want to share with you some of our 2022 highlights and take the occasion to wish you a wonderful new year.
Our 2022 highlights
We published several papers...
Over the course of the year we published several papers and reports on topics of high relevance for health management.
  • A white paper on the burden of paediatric RSV in hospitals and the community, and the impact of RSV infection on health systems performance and healthcare resource use over the last three RSV seasons (2018/19, 2019/20, 2020/21).

  • A report on the essential skills for a resilient and effective European health workforce including recommendations on skills gaps in the context of visible trends and challenges.

  • A white paper on the impact of medicines on the environment and recommendations that health managers can implement at the various stages of the medicine’s lifecycle.

  • A report on the health management challenges in the South-Eastern European region, as part of the Special Interest Group on South-Eastern Europe.

We also contributed to the publication of a taxonomy on value-based healthcare as part of our work with the European Alliance for Value in Health (EAVH).

We organised events ...
The EHMA 2022 Annual Conference took place in-person in Brussels after two years of digital events! We were pleased to see many of you and discussing 'From people to systems: Leadership for a sustainable future'.

We have also announced the EHMA 2023 Annual Conference that will take place in Rome on 5-7 June hosted by our member, the Catholic University of Sacred Heart. Remember to submit your abstract!

We also organised the webinar series 'Health Management in action: fostering health systems resilience' with ten episodes on topics ranging from governance in crisis management, environmental threats, the monkeypox outbreak, workforce mental health and wellbeing, and much more...

... and we participated in conferences across Europe
This year we were pleased the represent the health management voice in a number of European conferences. We participated in the International Conference on Integrated Care (ICIC), the European Health Forum Gastein, the European Public Health (EPH) Conference, the European Health Summit and many more...

We launched new projects...
BeWell - Blueprint alliance for a future health workforce strategy on digital and green skills is an Erasmus+ project that aims to upskill and reskill the European health workforce. The project will develop a green and digital skills strategy that can be implemented at a local, regional, national, and ultimately at the European level through the Pact for Skills.
 
EUVECA - European Platform for Vocational Excellence in Health Care is an ERASMUS+ project designed to support the development of future-oriented skills within the health and care sector. At the heart of the project is the creation of 7 European Regional Vocational Excellence Hubs, which will collaborate using a European Platform for Vocational Excellence in Health Care
